I went to the 40th birthday party of one of my college buddies this evening.  It makes me wonder... What is appropriate for a 40th birthday?  Mine is not too far away.  I'm tired of birthday themes that even I do not remember... What would be a good birthday theme?  Cy had excellent food, a pool, dancing and interesting people.  I'm not sure I want to follow suit, I just want something that is equally fun.

Tomorrow morning, incredibly early, I leave for China.  *sigh*  Travel again. You can translate this as "She is going to be desperately lonely and bored for the next three weeks.  I should email her."

Seems like it is that time of year. I have only a couple days before I am back to work. I have mixed feelings. I am excited to be heading back to my students and work that I enjoy, but sad to lose the time to complete all the things I want and need to complete around the house.

The kids are growing so fast. Eli starts Kindergarten. Kaci is headed for 8th grade and the twins are entering day care this year.

Enjoy the travel. Keep me posted on all that is going on.

I am not sure about 40th birthday's either. I want mine to be something significant because I often choose not to celebrate birthdays. I like the idea of good food, frineds, and interesting conversation.
