Last night my efforts at behaving "What would I do if this were home? I would call the airlines until they got me a new ticket." like I would at home lasted until about 3am.

The midnight hotel desk guy has now seen me sit in his lobby crying (frustration? hopelessness?) and playing voices on my laptop too loud. He did cast sympathetic glances my way. I'm not sure it gets me anything, but it felt like human contact.

On the List Of Stuff I Did Not Bring (LoSIDNB): headset for talking on Skype in public places

I remember life before Skype. Ye gods, it was a pain! I LOVE SKYPE. *LOVELOVELOVE*

By the time a human on Orbitz actually answered (HOW much of my Skype money did I use up on hold?!) and indicated that he COULD help me, my standards of what was an acceptable outcome had been so far lowered that I would accept practically anything. Get Me Home!!! Next Thursday is, of course a CRAZY long time away... and yet it is a tremendous rush of relief just to have a plan.

My search of the websites indicate that even if flights start running on Sunday night or Monday it will take days and possibly weeks for all of the planes and crew in wrong locations to be sorted out.

With relief rushing through me, I came back to my room last night and... washed my weeks worth of dirty underwear and socks. I love travel Woolite! I can do that once more. Yes, the hotel has a cleaning service, but I have never liked handing my clothing to someone else.

Yes, I'm a control freak. Admitting it does not make me any more relaxed or easygoing or mellow.

Then I went to sleep at 3am. My body woke me up at 7am.
Me: Waah? I'm TIRED here!
Body: But it's morning! And if you go downstairs right now, there is BREAKFAST. Breakfast is good. We like Breakfast.
Me: Ugh. Likelihood of finding food later without a brain transplant into an extrovert? Low. Damn.

So I went down to breakfast. Three hardboiled eggs (First hotel I've ever encountered that makes the hard ones. HATE the soft ones.) later I felt much more able to face a Saturday in Poland. Yay, hardboiled eggs!

Then I went back to bed. Hey, vacation here! What is the traditional first thing to do on vacation? Get enough frikkin' sleep! I slept until.... 2pm. When my PDA told me it was time to take my pill.

LoSIDNB: BC pills for more than my planned trip. Happily, I have the supplies to handle it until Thursday. I think.

Quest 1: Chocolate
Quest 2: Pharmacy or grocery store

Now that I'm up, I think I will go walking. The sky out of my hotel window is a gorgeous blue with a few puffy clouds. Take my camera this time and take pictures!

LoSIDNB: cable to connect camera to computer. So, no pics for you until I get home.

LoSIDNB: camera battery power up. So, when I run out of juice, it is done. No more pictures.

But I will do my best to get some interesting ones.
