it's all in the timing
Feb. 5th, 2008 03:30 pmThis morning when I woke up (neighborhood construction. Bigger, better water lines? It's been three weeks.) I got sucked into the taxes. One entry led to another until I was late getting out the door to my morning workout. And when I got back, I didn't get my shower because the $repairperson is supposed to arrive sometime between 12 and 5pm. So I waited. When I got stuck in the taxes (HATE THEM! Now they want exact numbers on how much was withheld in taxes from each of my husband's paychecks, in three month increments. Stupid, pointless, annoying...), I played some Wii. Arranged my plane tickets for next month. Received a package for my neighbor. Gave the package to the neighbor. Cleaned up the TV room floor.
At 2:15pm, the $repairperson finally arrived. Informed my husband, negotiated, managed to not get them to replace the DVR again.... He was out by 2:50pm. My shower! At last! "Please be done by 3pm," my husband said, "so I can hear my conference call where I am set up downstairs underneath the shower."
No problem. 10 minute... No, 7 minute shower. I can do this. I turn on the water, I throw my dirty clothes in the laundry... And the water stops running. It's off. Gone. No water.
Now they decide to turn off the water with no notice?!?!
