Home again!
Jan. 29th, 2008 02:18 pmTransferring flights in England? Evidently the "one carry-on, and your purse counts!" in England is not well-known. Many fellow US passengers transferring to other countries in Europe were shocked, horrified, indignant, and checking in their carry-on. I must have heard that speech about how "I got on the plane in Dallas with it, and it was fine!" ten times.
And a two hour layover in Gatwick? Not enough time. I spent the ENTIRE time in stupid, pointless lines. Very frustrating.
But I made it home on time. And my luggage (all damaged, but with the contents intact) arrived with me. So it is all good.

Date: 2008-01-29 11:07 pm (UTC)Concierge was unhelpful. Did call the airlines. They said they would accept it, as long as it wasn't spewing clothing. And they did, reluctantly. Insisted it was "oversized."
I had T bring the truck to pick me up at the airport. No regular car trunk will hold it.
