Too late to do me any good.

It turns out that if one walks to work in rain and snow, then stuffs one's damp scarf and gloves in jacket pocket and sleeves, that said items are still damp 9 hours later!  Further, it seems that damp scarf and gloves are not as comfortable to walk in cold weather as dry ones would be!

I'm guessing your scarf and gloves aren't wool? Wool stays warm even when very wet. I bet you could get some lovely wool things in Scotland, too!

True. Leather gloves and cashmere scarf, I think. But like the long underwear, when else would I wear it? Texas is just not a wool kind of place... However, for future visits, I'm keeping it in mind!
