The cast of torturers:
T (my SO. And why else would I be in nowheresville, NY?)
D (T's brother)
B (D's wife, a sweetheart)
Mom (T & D & K's)
Dad (T & D & K's)
K (T's sis, who seems to think that throwing a trashcan at my head is an acceptable way to express disagreement. Still waiting for an apology. It's been 14 months.)

T, D, & B decided that hiking up a mountain would be a great way to convince K to let Mom & Dad have some time away from her (at 38, K still lives at home and rules their house and lives). This backfired when K decided to come along.

So, imagine four hours of hell:
* The forecast lied. At 10am, it was over 90 degrees F.
* It is a MOUNTAIN. Are you translating that to 'uphill'?
* I asked B why she likes to hike. 'For the fresh, clean air!' I took a deep breath... And started choking on K's cigarette smoke. I don't think she actually smoked the whole 4 hours... There were a few 5 minute breaks.
* T, sweetheart that he is, brought plenty of water. He plied me with it generously.
* Four mile march, climb, march, stop & wait while Mom takes pictures...., march, gotta pee, wait while Dad takes pictures...., climb, gotta pee, march, gotta PEE, march, climb, GOTTA PEE NOW!!!
* And that's how I got....
