American Airlines efficiency in rebooking me on the next available flight? Way up.
Ease and quickness of jumping through airline + TSA over-long hoops? Not good.
According to when my plane from Ireland landed, I could have made my scheduled flight. I had 35 minutes. But with all of the hurry-up-and-wait, it was 90 minutes before I could have gotten to my potential gate. In a world in which businesses are all about efficiency, cutting out unnecessary steps, eliminating redundancy; you cannot convince me that the painful lengthiness of this process to change planes was necessary "For Security."
Total power trip by a TSA person? Yep. "Keep your personal luggage in your control at all times." Unless we decide to allow other random passengers to paw through your things while we revel in the power to deny you the freedom to walk through the metal detector Just Because We Can. Oh, yeah, just watch while we ignore as other people decide whether your stuff is worth taking... Ha ha!
New estimate on this "day" of travel? 23 hours to get home. I am actually going to arrive home two hours later than I have been getting up every morning. Think: 7am
Ugh.
