During our Carribean cruise
Nov. 19th, 2007 03:55 pmOn our previous cruises crossing the Atlantic, having a balcony was a convenience. I would use it once or twice, but it is cold outside on the Atlantic and the Queen Mary 2 has a lot of comfy indoor seating with views of the ocean where I can read.
Not so, the Carnival Conquest. This ship proclaims itself a "Party Ship." This translates to a lot of crowds, smoking areas, discos and bars. This does not lend itself to quiet smoke-free comfortable seats watching the waves. As we cross the Gulf of Mexico, the temperature is in the 70s. The balcony? TOTALLY WORTH IT. Just me, the waves (too far to splash me), a gentle breeze and a reasonably comfy chair.
