home, home, home!!!
Sep. 1st, 2007 05:29 pmI'm home! At last!
And I've added the missing backdated entries.
My trip went... Well, all right as trips go. I do have a few comments.

My trip went... Well, all right as trips go. I do have a few comments.
- Hong Kong airport, to my surprise, is run much like British or Irish airports. I know, I know, but Hong Kong seems to randomly switch between behaving Chinese and behaving like the British. Entering any particular situation I could not anticipate which they would do. And they are often totally different! So, for example, where Chinese airports allowed me to have a carry-on and a briefcase, Hong Kong airport took my carry-on away. If I had packed with this in mind, this would have been fine. So, it wasn't. I think I'm still bitter.
- LAX is possibly the worst labeled airport EVER. I had to seriously ask directions.... Um... Let's see... For the bathroom ("Back through customs."), for the place to recheck my luggage ("No, that's missing luggage, dearie! Keep going down the [unmarked] hall."), for my domestic terminal, for an elevator or escalator to the 2nd floor of the domestic terminal, for an entrance to the domestic terminal (25 minutes of looking, with TSA escort). That is five times! And it wasn't like there were signs I didn't see! There were No Signs!
- Showers in LAX Admiral's Club. *happy hum*
- I actually ran my ipod out of battery. For the first time ever. I was beginning to think it couldn't be done!
- Backup Treo battery in charger? Totally useful! Second half of my trip would not have been the same without it. Thank you, ovrclokd!
