Where oh where is my silver lining?
Aug. 20th, 2007 11:32 amI made to Shanghai. The trip took me about six more hours than it should have.
On the good side, I found time on the planes to study for my class and Dragonair has really edible diabetic meals.
This morning my bruises are purple-black and I can clearly see where I bounced down multiple stairs. I strained muscles I was previously happily unaware I had. I must have grabbed for the railing and twisted... Good for my tailbone, bad for my wrenched shoulder, hip and abs. I can climb regular stairs, but lifting my right foot above stair height involves picking up the leg with my hands. Let's hope there is no need to run for my life in the next week or so.
The hotel, in Shanghai typical, did not have my room ready anything like I requested or min I need when I arrived this morning. And my "Could I please have a table?" requests were met with verbal assurances but no table. Only one of my students rescued me from wringing his neck.
*deep breath*
But they made me lovely loose tea. It smells of peaches.
Trying to let them all live...
