I want my upgrades back
May. 8th, 2006 05:19 pmToo many days spent on planes, not enough time to go to the body shop between trips (aka get a massage). So when my upgrade came thru on this latest trip, I didn't fight it.
And then... then the loudly screaming baby (with young mother) took the seat beside mine. Just old enough to be dangerously mobile, not near old enough to reason with.
My plans for a drink? How to keep little grabby arms from spilling it all over my only jeans for the trip?
My plans to work? I cannot do my job this week without a working computer. Drink crashing over computer? Baby grabbing at computer? Knocking over computer?
The kid dives for me & screams. I asked his mother whether I am wearing something shiny (& he wants it) or if it is simply "must touch the strange thing." She said he has just realized cause & effect. Thus, he can make people react by screaming continuously at them.
Lovely.
The stewardess gave me a look of sympathy when I ordered alcohol (no ice, drunk quickly & handing the glass immediately back) & turned back on my (thank god) noise-canceling headphones & ipod. I think she wanted similar headphones. Just a guess.
