shoe advice

I need high heels (2"+) in plain black. And I need them to be comfortable enough to walk long distances. Like, almost a mile (slowly and elegantly, of course). And I need to not be in terrible pain by the end of the mile. And no pain at all would be really nice.

I'm the type who wears no heels. Ever. Ok, once every 10 years. And only for a really good friend. And am usually wearing Birkies. So my feet are NOT accustomed to this sort of abuse. So a brand? A store? Any advice would be helpful!

Do they have to be that high? I'd recommend Fleuvogs -- you can find them normally cheaper on ebay, or buy directly from the website. And they do have high ones, but I had to sell back my "mini gorgeous" ones, because they were too high. Aimees are my favorite, but they're discontinued (so I love ebay.)
