Life Progression, House Cleaning, Sleeping Late, Medical Tortures and Romance.  What is not to like?

Life Progresses, Whether We Like It or Not

Monday, I sold the Honda.  Yes, folks, it is gone.  You can stop writing and leaving it love notes.  No more phone calls with cutesy messages.  It won't do you any good, the car is gone.  Gone, gone, gone.  No longer residing here.  Changed addresses.  Hey, maybe even changed names.  And, no, I won't forward your messages.  Yes, she was a wonderful, beautiful car who you will miss very much.  Live with it.

Later Monday I went sneaker shopping for the usual reasons.  You know, unsightly holes in my old pair, wearing through the lining.  Started shopping around 9pm and the store was half dark (Translation = a bit scary).  Decided that size 9 was a bit big in the first pair.  PUlled the 2nd pair in 8.5 (which I have not worn in 10 years) and 9.... Tried on the 8.5 pair and...  An orchestra started playing.  Birds started chirping.  Small chipmonks came out from behind the racks of shoe boxes and started singing.  ...In spite of this, I bought the shoes.

Tuesday was... Let's Do Our Taxes day!  Yay!  Taxes!!!  ...Yes, that was sarcasm.  Software is lovely, but can only take me so far.  Organization and planning throughout the year helps keep me from running to the files or the car every 2 minutes, but still... Bleh.  And in honor of those businesses who wait until the last minute to send out all of their forms, or decide that I don't actually need the forms this year:  Bleh on you, too.

Wednesday was... packing for Ireland day.  Yay, packing!  ...Ok, more sarcasm.  But let me mention that my recent travel-drawer organizational efforts have really paid off.  Putting things away again may be more trouble (vs the old Toss Casually in Drawer.  Shove drawer closed.), but the packing side of it has been Totally Worth It!  Now, if I can just prevent T from stuffing Mr Kitty in a suitcase while I'm not looking...

House Cleaning

It happened.  Not like the house got cleaned, but I did clean off the couches and kitchen table and TV room floor so T wouldn't have to look at my mess for three weeks.  Poor dear.  It is bad enough that he is contemplating paying the bills...

[personal profile] livingdeb will be proud of me -- while cleaning, I actually did as the organizational books recommended and threw out my old pair of sneakers.  Woo hoo!  And then, I threw out my old alarm clock when T gave me a new one for V-day.  This throwing-out stuff is HARD.

Sleeping Late

Somehow it didn't happen, day after day... How can almost an entire week pass in which I INTENDED to sleep late each and every day, and still it didn't happen?!  This just doesn't seem fair.  But... The good news is that Friday it happened. I slept way past any reasonable time.  Yay!  My last chance for quite a while...

Medical Torture

Ok, you know how men have to get that extra medical thing done when they hit about 40?  You all get NO SYMPATHY!!!  NONE!!!

Tuesday morning I sacrificed sleep at the alter of health.  I went for a mammogram.  And let me say for the record, "OWWWWWWWWW!!!  Ow!  Ow!  Ow!"

Informational update: Clutching one's chest while rolling about on the floor moaning piteously is not as sexy as you might think.

Medical informational update:  Telling me to hold my breath?  Completely redundant.  It would be much more useful to tell me stop grinding my teeth.

Romance

I'm convinced that T was trying to fill up my romance reservoir in anticipation of the drought.

I got to have lunch with T THREE TIMES this week.  It was so great!  I rarely get lunch with him even once in a week.  It was always relatively quick, but it was really nice to see him in the middle of the day.

We have a date night every week.  This week, it turned out to be more elaborate than I expected.

Thursday night we dressed up very formally and went out with raaga123 and chikuru for dinner.  And by "dressed up," I mean that [profile] chikuru was wearing a tux and [personal profile] raaga123 was wearing a really lovely formal dress.  T was wearing his new formal duds, which he declared to be More Comfortable Than a Tuxedo!  Yay!  We have a winner!

And then on Saturday I got on a plane.  *sigh*  That pretty much ended the week off.
