The big presents I gave this year was plane tickets for my mother-in-law (Mom), father-in-law (Dad), T & me to visit my brother-in-law (D) and his wife (B) in Seattle. Highlights include:

* Playing dominos almost every night

* Going for walks with the dogs

* B scratch-made a very me- friendly Christmas dinner. We ate until all we could do was rock gently in our chairs and moan about having eaten too much.

* Hanging out and shopping in Seattle with B and Mom.

* Dad & T loved going to the Museum of Flight.

* Mom & Dad loved T's biggest wish -- to take them to the Space Needle. They spent the entire meal with their cameras to the glass.

* I loved T's repressive expression as we all took pictures of him with his pants around his ankles in the Utilikilt store. Yes, he bought one.

* T desperately wished for the camera as the security person did everything but a cavity search on me in the Seattle airport. They decided that the troublesome item was a teabag.

yay! i'm glad you guys had such a good time. my grandparents are in olympia, so we've done the space needle with all combinations of my relatives - it's always fun. i'll have to check out the museum of flight next time i'm up there...

which utilikilt did t. get? clearly he and [livejournal.com profile] thebroomecloset should do the men-in-skirts thing the next time they're both at Gold Cup. ([livejournal.com profile] thebroomecloset wore his black mocker to our new year's eve parties last night with combat boots and his cisco leather jacket. omg, YUM.)

Utilikilt

It is a dark green khaki one. Sturdy. Totally looks hot. From looking at their website, I think it is a Basil Survival model.

Men-in-skirts at Gold Cup... *dreamy look* Yup, I'm in!

We mostly played something called Mexican Train with a 12-dot domino set. Dad didn't enjoy the game... He is an engineering type and we kept all wondering if his blood sugar was low because his play was so slow at times. But he played because it was... You know. Social. *grin* I actually liked it. I think we even have such a domino set (we have two of the more traditional sets) ourselves.

I only have traditional dominoes. I learned to play with Cuban rules as my sister and her husband showed us how to play :)

From what I understand, it's more celebral than the Mexican train game (and it only uses the ones with the count up to 9, not 12).
