Why I like visiting Ireland
Dec. 3rd, 2006 03:26 amBreakfast! Yummy sausages, a full pot of tea to myself with the cream, eggs fried to my specifications (it took months to train them, but now they come perfectly cooked)... This is perhaps the one place I travel it is somewhat easy to go on the strictest (no carbs!) form of my diet and still eat. Breakfast every day really, REALLY helps.
Internet connection at my hotel. Yay for staying in contact with the world!
Everyone speaks English. And if they slow down, I can even understand them.
The Irish are truly nice people. Much nicer than us rude US citizens. Everywhere I go, people are friendly and chatty.
Terrific bars/restaurants! When I want a meal that happens to be served in a bar, I don't have to worry about being picked up by strangers. Oh, and decent meals do happen in bars.
I can rent a car, drive around, and (generally) not get lost. I know my way. Signs are pretty good. I've actually gotten very lost and simply followed signs until something looked familiar.
Chocolate! The chocolate here just somehow tastes better. And is well labeled! The majority of chocolate here clearly states the cocoa content on the package.
Finding my silver lining...
