The kindness of strangers
Nov. 7th, 2017 03:38 pmI lost my phone in my local airport.
My panic attack went through full visualization of trying to navigate a strange city with no GPS or paper directions. Much less, how to connect to everyone outside of the hotel? But mostly being lost.
I was going to charge it before getting onto the plane. But when I tried to pull it out of my pocket, it wasn't there. I remember using it in my seat, just before the bathroom. .... Nothing at the chair.
In the busy women's bathroom, I asked a stranger to call me. I picked poorly, but another woman volunteered.
And my watch started vibrating. "I'm in range!" But still had no clue where to look.
That was when another stranger stepped out of a stall and said "Someone's phone is ringing!" She was holding my phone.
I'm now weak with post-panic.
