The Expanse

We just finished our binge watching of The Expanse seasons 1 and 2.  

 

It started slow. I recorded the first episode on our DVR and was uninterested. Based on the first episode alone, the characters were unengaging and the story felt like disconnected pieces. But that changed over the course of the first season. We finished the second season in record time (for us).

 

It has action, drama, with the occasional bit of humor. People are people, with the mix of politics, classism, self-interest, moral quandaries,  and the occasional unexpected heroism. 

 

It is well done. I recommend the series.

Achaosofkittens is really enjoying it. Have you read the books! I read the first one for the Hugo's. It's incredibly rich.

I haven't. I've been waffling about reading the books. The show and books were recommended by the same friend.

I'm not saying that I enjoyed the book, and I don't watch TV, so I can't really give any equivalency to them. I was in awe of the world building and the character development. Covey created a rich, nuanced world for his story.
