A long weekend was just want I needed to settle in at home. Ok, yes, I did do work related stuff. I filed paperwork and answered emails and put in my hours for the previous month... But then T & I also put the pictures back on the walls. Because while I was gone, the Terrible Destruction of the Living Room happened. T and I were both of the opinion that it was better done while I wasn't here to completely wig out about it. So before I left we were worried that the jackhammer vibration would cause problems throughout the house. So we went a little nuts about taking down pictures with glass frames and packing up glass thing that might vibrate off a shelf (or onto glass) and shatter. So there were frames laying flat on the floor everywhere when we got back in. And dust clothes over most of the living room/kitchen.

So now there is a weird concrete shape in our living room (instead of lovely tile). And I'm doing my best to Firmly Test my new working toilet. I'll leave the scope of the testing to your imagination...

Jet lag coming from Europe is a lovely thing. Plus a wave of rain storms hit about the time we came into town, so the temperature is down to only a high in the 90s (yay!). So I spent quite a bit of time outside pulling weeds, putting out mulch in the flowerbed, trying to figure out how to dam the water from filling up the flowerbeds... and sweeping up the massive quantity of mud that the guys putting stonework up are tracking onto our driveway. Thanks, Guys! *sarcastic wave* Really, you COULD have done this in a way that didn't COVER OUR DRIVEWAY in mud! Really!

I was actually pretty ready to start work this morning. Yay, Monday! Yay, a restful weekend! All good.

I'm glad you had fun with T in Paris and that you are happy at home now, too, with your newly-re-plumbed potty. I'm glad nothing broke and that you could rehang your pictures without trauma. Boo about the mud, but hopefully you have a pressure washer for these kinds of emergencies.

And totally yay for getting some gardening time!
