California for a short trip

indigo_rose99It was like a week out of time. No packing. No working on the huge project that has consumed my life for almost a year. Just teaching. And seeing my friends texpenguin and spouse. It was pretty nice.
I gave up sleep on Thursday night in favor of going to Exploratorium with the friends. Truly bad traffic and driving to San Francisco after work.... It sucked up a lot of time. I think it was worth it, though I was still doing sleep recovery on Monday. Friday I had to do really unusual amounts of caffeine to stay functional in front of my class with their challenging questions.
I kind of loved the changing colors.
They showed me their favorite exhibits. I could see the benefits of going on adult-only night (which it was). No children competing for space and time! It was nice. I told T about it and I could tell he was envious. Now I'll have to find something similar locally to take him to...
