I started out tired and headachey. Jet lag plus a late bedtime plus an early alarm meant I got little sleep.
Breakfast was yummy bread and cheese and yoghurt. Plus it turns out my favorite cheese comes from here.  Yummy brown cheese!
They drove us back to the Snow Hotel. We decided to relax today,  take naps. But of course we had to wait until the rooms were ready.  We played some of the games T&txpenguin  brought.  I drank herbal tea (that I packed -- why no decaf tea here?!). At 1pm we made our way to our cabins.
The cabins are great! A mud room with heated floors, a bed room with a HUGE arched window (to watch the northern lights in comfort), and a very artistic bathroom. The window has chairs and a hot water pot. I'm writing this from one of those chairs...

A very modern bathroom.

And more of the bathroom.

The beds.

And the amazing chairs with the view!

I did some laundry - just the minimum to get T thru tomorrow,  as there is no hanging space and the sink has no stopper (I brought mine,  of course,  but the artistic sink design prevents me from using it). And then there was a glorious nap.
After which my headache had grown worse. I drank two bottles of water in case it was dehydration. And then it was time for dinner. Dinner delighted my companions. The nettle soup was good,  though I fished out the nasty raw egg and gave it to the thrilled R. And T let me eat the more cooked edges of his rack of lamb in trade for the raw centers of mine. I do not understand the European fascination  with eating raw meat products. But at least my companions seem more than willing to trade them for the more appetizing cooked bits. I am lucky in traveling companions.

After dinner we walked through the snow hotel.  T & I had shots at the ice viking ship/bar. T discovered the dangers in a ice shot glass (it slipped through his fingers in the first 2 seconds).  I was amazed that the bartender was so acclimated that she didn't even wear gloves. Somewhere in the snow hotel, my headache faded.

Back in our room, we discovered that our clothes had dried. Already! It seems really warm and dry in the room. T convinced me to do all his accumulated laundry. Still awkward in the stopper-less sink,  but I'm convinced they will be dry by morning in time to pack.
Sitting at the window in the dark watching the sky and  playing on the wifi, we saw txpenguin outside waving frantically and pointing at the sky. We shoved on layers, grabbed cameras and went out into the cold.
And that is when we saw them.  The Northern Lights. CHECK!
