We survived.

We arrived home from Albuquerque late Monday night. Tuesday we went to see the new Star Wars movie. Which was fun... but we needed time to process the movie. Tuesday night we packed. and Wednesday we flew with my father in law to the West Coast to spend Christmas with my in-laws. T had not seen hs neices in 2 years. They are small.... um.... beings. Very cute. But quite noisy for something so small.

Christmas Eve we went to the..... huh. Is there a name for the family of my brother-in-law's wife? In-laws in-laws? Yeah, we spent it with them. My favorite bit was when the cousin-in-law showed up at the party wearing the most AMAZING Chistmas suit. Not santa suit, mind you. Do an Amazon search on "Forum Novelties Men's Santa Suit Costume" and it looked something like that. Whew!

Christmas Day, after the required small nieces tearing open stockings and gifts energetically, was pretty mellow. I took a nap.

Saturday we went back to Star Wars. Yes, I've now seen it twice in the past week! That part went well. We are looking for the good quotes. Are there any?

Today we flew home. Alaska Airlines had a "glitch" that meant our seats were double booked. As Dad and I boarded the plane (after T was already on!), they moved us to different seats. Which also turned out to be filled with humans. It was annoying, but we did get home successfully.

So, tomorrow... work. *sigh*

I'm glad it was mostly nice if noisy. I'm glad you all survived.
How was the book?

So far, good. I tried hard not to swallow it all at once.

You know a certain friend of ours? Fastest reader I've ever met. I once compared our reading speeds: she is 3x me. And I'm not slow! I asked her what she was reading last month and she said.... nothing. She doesn't have the time. She explained that she never puts a book down. She picks it up, reads the entire thing (maybe an hour), and moves on. I abruptly stopped envying her this superpower. I LIKE living in the world of a book for a day or two or several. Even if it is only for 5-10 minutes once or twice a day.
