When is the Worst Possible point in your morning when an emergency could happen?

You are naked.

Naked and soaking wet.

Naked, soaking wet, covered in soap.

Naked, soaking wet, covered in soap, with the all of the shampoo still covering your hair and hands.

Yeah THAT was when the hotel fire alarm went off this morning.

I would have finished rinsing. After all, being all wet should buy you at least that much extra time in the event of a real fire!

This experience makes me realize that I didn't have a Fire Plan. Rinsing off does seem like a good first step no matter what, but also getting out of the building seems in general like a life-extending plan. But I refuse to go outside (40F!) without clothes. But which clothes are the minimum for exiting the building during a fire? It's not like I lay out "In case of fire" clothes every morning when I hop in the shower! And shoes?! Do I bother to put on socks?.... These are questions I will have to fully think through.
