Monday again

indigo_rose99The weekend for me was full of sleep and friends. I reveled in sleeping in my own bed and doing nothing work related. And today I even got work done. It has been a satisfying few days.
My brother is still alive this morning. He is texting me about the new plan. His first 48-hour chemo ended Sunday morning. I'm not entirely sure when the next one starts. I should check on that. But in the meantime he is getting massive doses of morphine. I did a quick lookup of what a typical pain-dose of morphine is. At comparable hourly rates, typical is 3.75mg/hour. He is getting 8mg. Yep, they are prioritizing his comfort. That makes me happy, though I suspect it will not make a huge difference in his pain. Last time we discussed it, he said that morphine does little or nothing for him. But perhaps that was a lame levels in which they were trying to get his other metrics down to bearable levels? Evidently morphine interferes when you are trying to fix other bodily functions.
