G looks like himsellf. Too thin. Weird for active him to be tied to a bed, but he is awake and responsive in all the right verbal ways.

He says today that they are giving him 6 months. Perhaps a year with chemo and periods of better health. Chemo seems inevitable. I am hugely and verbally in favor of anything that makes him feel better. But they are fighting to get him well enough to start the chemo.

I outlined my plan for the next few days. He is cooperative and seems to feel like it won't be the marathon for him that I fear. All good.

It was really hard getting to him in the hospital. Saturday night there are 3 locked doors between us and him. And I did not like how the nurses were treating him. Ignored his beeping machine for a long time. I am convinced that patients with persistent family get better treatment. He seemed (for him) remarkably blase about his current hospital.

Everything in my family's experience is evidence that yes, they do. This is especially true when the patient is incapacitated or apathetic.

Wow, 6 months?! That sounds much better than what I was expecting, even accounting for doctor optimism. I'm still surprised that chemo is considered a good idea, but I agree that anything that makes him feel better is good.

Sounds like he's also looking better than I feared.

It's good that he has more time for the paperwork, but I hope you are getting a bunch out of the way now. But also I hope he can find a good local person to help him out with the hospital, etc.

Thanks for the update.
