Last week as we left the US, I got an email from my brother G. The one who does not live in Texas. He asked if I would be around this week, as he might be headed to MD Anderson (a hospital an hour or so away).
I explained about the trip to Canada and asked what was up. I got his response when I checked my email last night: potential pancreatic cancer. They are still testing. Lots of tests.
Today as I stepped off a plane, I got the next message: He has cancer. It has metastasized. He has weeks, not months or years.
I don't have words for this.
