walking back to the hotel
May. 9th, 2014 05:18 pmT chose Robson street, known for its food, for us to walk back to the hotel.
At the first restaurant (sushi mart), we ate sushi. My miso and unagi were delicious. At least part of the fellow patrons spoke Japanese as a first language, always a good sign.
I was reluctant and full, but T seemed to still be hungry, so we stopped at a locally sourced place called Forage. T ordered another hamburger. I think he is not going home until he finds a decent burger. I ordered cider and a mysterious dessert involving chocolate that I could not pronounce. After listening to the description of my dessert, the next table decided they needed one. I tried not to roll my eyes when theirs appeared first...
Elk and Buffalo. Evidently T's quest is to be pronounced a success. He said it was one of the three best burgers he has ever tasted. He compared it to one of our local burgers... And it was enough different that I could not choose which is better.
