indigo_rose99It was a direct flight. 13.5 hours vs 25 hours.... How could I resist?
But not all airlines are the same and they don't make clear in advance how they are different.
Officially, most airlines have a weight limit on carry on luggage. I almost never see it enforced.
In line to check in, they were carefully weighing the checked AND carry-on bags! This caused me a pretty huge panic attack, as I'm reasonably sure ALL of my bags are over the 15lb carry-on limit. My one hope was that they would not bother weighing a backpack (est weight ~25lbs). So I put it on and tried not to groan or step heavily. And not take it off during the check in process...
I got lucky.
If they lose my luggage, I'm pretty hosed, though. I have a set of underwear and socks to pad my electronics, but that is it.

On the plane, there is no tap water to wash your hands. I mentioned this to a flight attendant and she indicated it is turned off while we are on the ground. Oooookay....
On the plane, there are cups in the bathroom. And a sign: Do not drink from tap. ...?.... Though perhaps I may have figured that one out: I think they are trying to use only air to flush the toilet. Six tiny cups of undrinkable tap water, and it actually flushed!
But that also explains the stories I heard of "Stopped up toilets one hour in." Ugh.
