My day, continued

indigo_rose997:30am (5:30pm local time) Our flight finally lands in Houston. I make it through Immigration quickly, but my checked bag takes forever to appear. At long last, I join the huge line of people trying to get new tickets.
8:30am (6:30pm local time) A United employee tells me to get out of line, takes my checked luggage, and to book it to gate C22 and 23, where all flights home are leaving. I start running.
9am (7:00pm local time) I make it to the gate. The flight officially leaves in 15 minutes. They put me on the standby list, but do not tell me how long that list is. I start cooling down while I wait.
9:30am (7:30pm local time) I board the plane. It is half empty.
I'm going to make it home tonight!
