I packed 3 pairs of shoes for this extended trip.
Usually on a business trip I have only two pairs: sneakers for exercise and running, and work shoes. This strip, I luxuriously packed a checked bag of food, and included a pair of sandles.
My weekends have been spent wandering malls. And while this is not home, they do have interesting items. I found a pair of my running shoes (merrell barefoot) on sale. I can live with the color, and on sale was pretty attractive. My old shoes are loose now, and the growing blister on the ball of my foot is irritating. So I bought a new pair.
That brings me up to 4 pairs of shoes.
Then this past weekend I found a Merrell store. An entire store! I did not actually see ANY of my line of running shoes... but I did find a cute slipper... on the same foot bed as my running shoe! I've been searching for a middle-ground shoe. Something that is not formal dress, not work, that I could wear in social settings at about the business casual level. They were EXACTLY what I want. And the price was about what I would expect to pay at home. *sigh* But I found them! In my size. T is beginning to worry that I will turn into some horrible shoe-collecting person. He is having visions of high heels!
Yep, that brings me up to 5 pairs of shoes. Good thing I have that near-empty piece of checked luggage!
