Toilets

Filipino toilets are perfectly ordinary. Well, aside from the one in the closest women's restroom being a shade of PINK that makes me think someone is really too attached to gender roles. I only say that because the opened men's room door makes me think that it was not just a bulk buy of tile and pink fixtures. No, someone CHOSE this bilious shade.
No, what bothers me is the toilet paper. Or lack thereof. See, if on Monday morning of last week, there had been no toilet paper, I would have managed. I brought my spare travel roll with me. It would have been fine. No, there was plenty of toilet paper. The same on Tuesday. And
Wednesday. It was on Thursday that... it ran out. And no one replaced it. Not Thursday, Not Friday.

This must be a situation where cleaning staff only works on weekends. Ugh.

On Monday, there was a full roll again.

Now if this were a regular work toilet, I wouldn't worry about it, I'd just move to another stall. But this women's room only has one stall. One. One roll of toilet paper. No cabinets to hide spares. On Thursday, I was originally relieved to notice a nearby handicapped toilet. I can manage by using it. Also one stall. And it never ran out of toilet paper (through Friday). But evidently that one is in more demand on Thursday/Friday (duuuh). And I cannot get INTO it in the 5 minutes I have before I need to get back to my classroom.

I had packed my spare travel roll, but clearly I need to break it out again. *sigh*
