I may bash their seriousness about security, but one thing I must admit: The Filipinos have terrific customer service! In a variety of setting, from hotel to shops to work, the people behind the counters are very very very polite. And friendly! They go out of their way that is not creepy (India, where I felt everyone had their eye on my wallet), but just friendly. They seem really delighted that they are making me happy.

I read today that the adopted official language of the Philippines is English, which explains why everyone I meet speaks fantastic English. Sometimes I have difficulty understanding an accent, but it is perfect English.
