In the big scheme of things that have gone wrong as I travel to exotic locations, this has been pretty tame.
I managed to sleep a little on the 14 hour flight to Tokyo. Yay, drugs! I even managed to sleep some on the 5 hour flight from Tokyo to Manila.
My plane landed on time, and immigration was very smooth (esp compared to Canada!). My driver was prompt at the airport. I did not manage to find someplace to change money.
The hotel is glossy and my room looks like hotels everywhere. The only differences:
* a shower AND a tub (win!)
* the shower door does not stay closed, thus water inevitably all over the floor
* two small (12 oz?) free bottles of water in my bathroom, reminding me to not drink the water
* The hotel gym opens at 5:something. Too late for me. I plan to enjoy (sarcasm) a stair workout every morning.
* Hotel breakfast and room service starts at 6am. My car service should pick me up at 5:45am. *sigh*
Even with things going smoothly last night, I only managed 3.5 hours sleep in the hotel. Livingdeb, I even took your advice and skipped the morning workout just for today. *sigh* This afternoon is going to SUCK.
Today, my driver was supposed to pick me up at 5:30-5:45am. He showed up after 6am. Completely freaking me out, of course.
