Shipped within the US and handed over to USPS (according to USPS website) on Aug 13.
Aug 13 -- Day 0 or 1
Aug 14 -- Day 1 or 2
Aug 15 -- Day 2 or 3. No package.
Aug 16 -- Day 3 or 4. No package. Scheduled deliver date Aug 15. Who knew USPS can time travel?! I really wanted the package contents before 7pm. Given the "2-Day" shipping, I felt comfortable (up until 7pm arrived with no package) that it would arrive in plenty of time.
Aug 17 -- Saturday (= not a business day). No package. USPS website status "Missent". Scheduled deliver date Aug 17.
I called their service number. The automated recording had no information and was skilled at prevented me from speaking to a human. With some advice from T (who used to work at a call center), I managed to defeat the automation and get a human.
Roroy(?) said that there was a problem and my package was missent to the wrong address. "It has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it to you." What time does delivery stop in my area today? Can I expect the package today? "I don't know." Since this was Priority Mail 2-Day and we are on day 4 or 5, clearly having the delivery guarantee missed, will you be returning money to the sender or me? "No. There is no guarantee." Wait, so you are saying that you take the sender's money and there are NO CONSEQUENCES WHATSOEVER for utterly and completely missing actually delivering the package in anything like what you promised? "Correct."
Wow. Now I completely understand why USPS is having financial problems. Why would anyone pay for them to deliver any packages when they are undependable?!

Update: Aug 19 -- Day 5 or 6. Still not here. And the USPS website has no update since they "Missent" it the morning of Aug 17. It is now scheduled for delivery on Aug 19. I think they have lost the package.
