T was sick (not good) and stayed home to sleep (exotic and pleasant change!). I went to the gym at the usual time (4:50am) without him and then made my 7am meeting. I got in a brief nap with T after the meetings (sleep good!). T invited me out to lunch with one of his co-workers (lunch? Outside the house?! They allow this?). While at lunch I got an email from an old friend who I have been quite worried about. His life has made a dramatic positive change and he is trying to comprehend it all. T and I were floored. We tried to grasp the shift in my friend's life as I went back to work. And then I got the phone call that was the pinnacle of my day.
See, when I returned the rental car in Portland Tuesday, it was not all in one piece. Yes, after 20+ years of renting cars, I returned a damaged one. This MIGHT have been correlated to my inhalation of a half bottle of ibuprofen. Me, tense? You betcha! They told me when I turned the car in that they could not commit to cost or timeline or anything. It was... vast understatement here... stressful.
The rental car company called Friday and said they fixed it in-house, no charge. I danced my way thru the evening.
