A day in my life. Friday. I'm not sure there is A Typical Day these days, but parts of this were typical and parts were not.
4:40am Alarm goes off. Get dressed in workout clothes
4:45am Turn on soaker hoses around house. Drive to gym with T.
5:55am Return from gym, turn off soaker hoses.
6am Shower
6:30am Dress, start packing food and electronics for the day.
7:10am Turn on Skype on my phone so my coworkers can reach me, drive toward my college roommate B's house. Listen to my current book being read to me via TTS in Moon+Reader (the only reason I paid for the Pro version).
8:50am Stop for gas. Text my boss that I am running late and will likely be late for the 9am conference call.
9:05am My boss calls me. I'm still driving. I stick in headphones and start trying to participate while navigating the last few miles to B's house.
9:15am Arrive at B's house. Unpack the car, greet B's mom, boot a laptop, and start taking paper notes on the meeting.
10am Hang up on meeting and greet B's mom properly. B is asleep.
10:20am Boss texts me and asks me to join another conference call for a different customer.
12pm Finish that set of conference calls. Ask my boss for a few minutes to eat lunch before calling him back to talk about the training I am developing. Work out a plan for the next step.
2pm Finish THAT phone call. Stare at the pages and pages of notes I need to transcribe onto someplace logical on a computer and finally wander in to say "hello" to B. She looks OK, as much as anyone with many tubes sticking out of her can. She challenges me to a game of Royalty.
4pm After B has beat me at Royalty and Quiddler quite thoroughly, I wander back to my computer. Ugh. An email from a customer, who wants an outline for a 4 hour demonstration at a conference in Japan. That one of us (me?) would present. My coworkers want to talk about it before I answer him.
5:30pm Finish up the first draft of the outline, share it with my coworkers.
6pm Leave B's house, start driving home. Usually I try to leave about 3pm, so I can be home at least for an hour or two before going to bed. But Friday means T will be gaming, so I'm more flexible.
8:10pm Arrive home. Respond to snail mail. Pay bills. Answer social and business email. Plan party for T's birthday. Work on Christmas plans. Schedule paperwork for the next two classes I will teach.
12:30am T arrives home.
1am Bed to sleep.
