Our friends P&J are walkers. And when I say "walkers," they think nothing of walking 5 miles after dinner. A casual 10 miles during the day? Nothing.

To hang with them, I must prep my feet and shoes for weeks as if for a marathon. In the evenings, I soak my sore feet in hot water and epsom salts.

They protest that they don't know what I'm talking about.

So yesterday we went everywhere. A farmers market, the Saint Lawrence market, and the Canadian National Exposition (like a state fair). I walked 17933 steps.

Three pairs of shoes, anti-blister bandages, changing shoes every 6 hours... My legs and feet will be grateful to be back at a desk on Tuesday!

On the good side, no need to use the hotel gym when we hang with P&J.

You were supposed to remind me to go to the gym. I think we could have gone swimming. In reality, me and J do not walk that much, usually we bicycle everywhere and it couldn't possible be the same thing. It is only about 1.5 km to work so we couldn't even be biking that much. Maybe you just need a better pair of everyday shoes. Or wick and dry socks or something.

I feel virtuous when M and I just walk around the block a few times in the evening... Clearly, I have a long way to go (in every sense of the word).
