Day 34 (of 37)
Aug. 9th, 2006 06:13 pmBefore I left home, my friend Pam and I were talking about travel and stress. Her advice: "Remember to breath."
This is surprisingly difficult. I mean, you would think, 'Breathing! I do that all the time! That is easy!' But really, not breathing can sneak up on you.
My father and mother were talking about operations (and other scary life events). Separately, they each told me that in the end, it comes down to... "All you have to do is remember to breathe." You do that and someone else will take care of the rest.
I find that I hold my breath when I am trapped on an elevator with a stranger. The invasion of my personal space has me holding my breath on planes. Scary people on the street make me hold my breath as I walk past.
Honestly I'm surprised that I don't pass out twice a day due to lack of oxygen!
So... Remember to breath.
