Mischief on a hoof

indigo_rose99Sometimes my husband T gets these wild hair ideas. The most recent was to"help" a friend, M, run a half marathon. T and friend (M's brother E) made some costumes. The final version was: white t-shirts with "M's Motivation Team," white headbands, white wristbands, aviation sunglasses, a huge supersoaker, and a jam box playing motivational songs.
If nothing else, the two of them entertained thousands of other runners.
M told E that he expected to run the half marathon in 2.5 hours. So we waited 600 meters from the finish at about 2 hours from the race start. And waited. And waited. We got to see the full marathon winner go by. And waited. After the 3 hour mark the remaining runners were mostly walking. T & I were giving up when I spotted M. T & E paced M the rest of the race, cheering with watery (supersoaker) encouragement.
T gave E the warm bottle of champagne for further liquid encouragement.
