I watched Tron for the first time today.  Yes, the one from 1982.  I prepped by reviewing what I remember of 1982.  No laptop computers, no desktops in every home or even work cube. No cell phones in every hand at the store.  No pausing the TV from my couch.  Internet?  What is that?  No email, no search engines...

I tried really hard to imagine that a monitor built into a desk was cool.  I did think that the video game parlor was cool... I kinda miss those.

Programs that look like people?  Um...  No.  And I wanted the villian to be a bit more charming.  *sigh*  It was kinda boring.  But now I'm ready to see the sequel in a week.

I liked the video game tables right up until I decided to play. That's when I would invariably bash my knee quite painfully sitting down at the table, curse and cry while the ghosts ate my Pac-Man repeatedly, thus eating my quarters as well. Todd has the same fond memory of such machines. --texpenguin
