Love habits, hate change!
Sep. 23rd, 2016 02:43 pmI hate change.
I love habits. They are comfortable. Friendly. No surprises. I dislike any surprise that does not start with chocolate or a favorite author's name.
Several months ago I decided that giving up my daily fancy energy drink habit would be a good idea until we are settled into the new house and mortgage. I still miss those drinks...
My massage place called me last week. "We are raising your monthly rate by $20/month unless you sign up for a guaranteed 12 months." Do I have any credits right now? No? Then cancel my membership. I'm out. I dislike pressure tactics like this. I probably would have stayed for the year if they hadn't tried to lock me into it.
Then I tried to cancel my audible membership. That one turned out better. I put it on hold for 3 months and discovered something called a silver membership. Much better deal. I'll go with that path once I have money again.
Yesterday my gym membership expired. I usually renew for a year at a time, and we've been going to the gym for more than 10 years. I let it go. We are about to move. Continuing to pay for a year was a poor financial choice. I still missed going this morning. T went without me. It was weird.
