Yesterday we went on a helicopter tour of an active volcano. Which was a lot flatter than I thought it would be.

If you look closely, you can see the red lava flowing down. The rising steam is because lava+ocean = steam. Cool, huh?

I miss my mom.

She would have loved my feeling of familiarity with the history and language from the many times I read her book.

And the muumuu she made me... Longer than most I see here.

Zip line

After my recent trapeze experience, I was a bit worried about spending hours zipping around the back country of Kauai.

But it was BEAUTIFUL. And I was strapped in enough to actually enjoy the ride.

I'd do it again.

See how GREEN everything is? That was one of my biggest shocks. This is actually one of the worst views of the spectacular valley we were in.

See? Sitting. Ok, I have a death grip on the straps, but you can't see that. And my death grip is not actually DOING anything....
