Pants! And small amounts of water.
Oct. 31st, 2011 12:18 pmWe had a cold front hit about last Thursday. I am now wearing Actual Pants for the first time this year. The weather is gorgeous. It is currently in the low 70s. I'm hoping to enjoy a week or so of this before the temperature returns to shorts-only weather.
Saturday morning we went out on an errand about 9am and encountered something deeply shocking on the next corner. Our neighbor was WATERING. In Broad Daylight. Blatantly. All the sprinkler heads sprouting WATER EVERYWHERE!!! I picked up the phone to call the police on their sorry asses. Watering, Hrumph.
Remember that as of a few weeks ago our county went from stage 2 restrictions (hand watering OK anytime, use sprinklers only 2 designated days of the week, water only during certain hours of the day) to stage 3 restrictions. The news interpreted stage 3 as No Outdoor Watering At Any Time For Any Reason Using Any Method. No Watering. Nothing. My personal bitterness was exacerbated by the 12:10am phone call by the city to tell me of the change.
Saturday morning T talked me into checking the web to see if the watering restrictions have been lifted back to stage 2 before I called the police on our neighbors. Yep, lifted back to stage 2. No appropriately timed (or not) phone call to tell me of the change, though.
I turned on the soaker hoses the second I got back to the house. Still hoping to avoid major foundation repair.
