And another adventure begins
Sep. 13th, 2010 04:05 pmEvidently adventures are fond of starting at awkward hours -- the plane took off at 3:40am Texas time Saturday night/Sunday morning. This could be a bad precedent.
However, it is a uniquely pleasant experience to have a traveling companion.
I was in cattle class, with an empty seat between me and my traveling companion. It was a 777. I won't say I got 10 good hours of sleep, but I feel relatively refreshed for stepping into another country.
It is 5:30am Monday morning, local time, as I stand in baggage claim writing this. *yawn* Since the airline got weight-picky about our carry-ons, I am fighting off a feeling of doom about our luggage appearing. Without it, I have socks, a spare shirt, an one set of underwear for my first day of work here. Not the image I was going for.
[Tuesday morning note: All luggage arrived. Other things went wrong, but at least I have everything I thought to pack.]
