I like peace and sometimes music to work. To work my way through problems, I will pause a TV or simply leave the room. So it is difficult for me to work in a single room with six other people talking and working constantly.
Today I have a massive list of stuff to do, much of which requires an intense amount of concentration. I pulled out my travel mic/headphone and put on music. I could not stand to listen to my coworkers and try to think my way through a knotty problem at the same time. They are nice, but *image of strangulation*
For lunch they dragged me across the street to a nook barely large enough to be called a shop. No AC, only fans. We sat on step stools. And ate vegetarian noodles. It was utterly surreal (given work context in my head). I felt very much like I was at the heart of Taiwan.
