California is beautiful in August. At least, for focused definitions of "beautiful" that can be interpreted as "Not boiling hot 24-7." When I walked to and from my rental car on Sunday, I nearly cried at the comfortable outdoor temperatures. 70-something! Outside! It exists! In Texas at 4:50am, it is always much hotter. *sigh*
Jet lag is easier this way... I am exhausted by the end of class each day (ok, sample of Monday currently gathered, but I'm expecting the same for the rest of the week), but it means I go to bed early. And when I wake up without an alarm at 4am... That is not so bad. The alarm would go off at 4:30am anyway, so...
T was cruel in my brief stop at home between Denmark and California. He kept me awake until NINE PM!!!! Evil man. But it did prepare me for driving to my hotel in California without hitting another car. *sigh*

Date: 2010-08-25 12:48 am (UTC)Thanks for the b-day wishes via phone last night! I spent my birthday evening in a night class, so wasn't there to answer, but I enjoyed the song...really. No, really! :-D

Date: 2010-08-25 01:42 am (UTC)I hope the night class was fun.
Amusingly, the temperature has heated up here. 98F is causing the locals to look a little crazed. "It is so hot!"
