The 2 hour train ride (each way) would have been peaceful -- the views were certainly great -- if I hadn't had Chinese shouted in my left ear the whole way.
But that ended when we got off the train and T found the main street (conveniently named Katoomba Street). We started walking... down. And down. And down. Eventually the shops gave out. I stopped, but T gave every evidence of continuing on down what was obviously an ENORMOUS mountain.
"Where are we going?"
"Thataway," he points down into the distance below us.
"Why? Do you have some sort of plan, or are we just walking in a direction?"
"Madame! You wound me!" hands dramatically to heart. "Of course I have a plan!"
"Well, do you mind sharing it with me?"
Down the mountain, turn right, then FURTHER down... And ride a skycar.
"It isn't the walking down so much, it is the future of walking back up that I am worried about!" He laughed. "And..." looking around at the houses in every visible direction, "Um... I'm gonna need a bathroom soon."
