I write this on Thursday morning before work... Looking back at Wednesday and most of my readers are actually still IN Wednesday right now.

Work went well yesterday.  The plan as I understood it was a meeting, and I managed to contribute in my field of expertise in a way that moved the process along.  I felt pretty happy with my contribution and the team outcome/plan as a whole.  That was a far better outcome of yesterday than I anticipated when I worried about it last week.

As a dig to my friends in Texas... It was in the 70s yesterday.  We sat outside in front of the water for lunch.  It started raining as we finished eating.  The temperature dropped, probably to the upper 60s.  So when I went back to my hotel and planned on a walk, I wore pants and a jacket (the jacket for the pockets and rain-repellent properties, not because I was cold).  And as long as I was outside, the temperature was perfect for the outfit.  ...You are having trouble imagining being outside in comfort in anything more than the barest of shorts and top, aren't you?  *grin*

It was lovely.  My local contacts keep apologizing for the cloudy skies and rain, but I LOVE it!  Ah, cool temperatures....  Now, if only they had air flow and gentle AC inside, it would be perfect!

Wednesday my adventure for the day was a walk to the local mall and a nice wander around it.  I chose not to buy anything, but it was fun to look.  I found a grocery store.  In one aisle I was sorely tempted by chocolate covered rice cakes.  But I couldn't figure out whether "mork" is milk or dark.  So I asked the next person down the aisle.    He said, "You have asked the wrong person!" in an utterly generic US accent.  *laugh*  He seemed very amused that we were equally bewildered.

Google Translate now tells me mork = dark.  I should go back today and pick some up as morning and plane snacks for my return trip.

In other amusing stories, I stopped by the hotel front desk to ask about taxi logistics to the airport for Friday.  As I was leaving, my questions answered, the Asian woman helping a couple said, "Ms. Rose!" and asked if I had gotten the fruit and such.  The she firmly assured me that I should have a good visit to their hotel and city.  *laugh*  She knew my name!  On sight!  The Powers That Be must have come down on her head quite hard after my email.
