A friend just forwarded one of those text list of funny thoughts and questions that I had never seen before.  One of them jumped out at me as pretty much summarizing working in an international (non-English speaking) facility for a week:

"How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?"
