With how much I paid for my car, you'd think the customer service would be pretty good. And it is. Usually.

Today I pulled in for my 7:30am service appt at 7:26am. Three cars were there before me. When the employees appeared at 7:31am, they helped the three in front. No problem. I waited.

At 7:36am the person who pulled her car in behind me is helped and I am just standing.

Two more customers arrived before anyone noticed me.

*sigh*

Invisibility. Sometimes a gift, sometimes a curse.

In situations like this, it's not rude to interrupt: "Excuse me, I think I was next."

You are right, but I wasn't quite sure how to handle this one.

The employees came outside to the cars of the people in front of me. So, I waited in/by my car. The woman who pulled in behind me walked past me and inside. I waited... no one appeared, so I went inside to find her chatting away with an employee and him taking her keys and going back outside to look over her car. Was that the time to interrupt and say, "Um... I was next?" I mean, it was obvious since her car was BEHIND mine... But... Ok, I caved. I just felt it was too rude to say it right then. Like it was too late. The moment for me to say that had passed.

So instead I glowered. I tried to glower loudly from the middle of the floor/path from entrance to desk. Given my invisibility, it likely had no effect beyond making me feel better.

it wasn't rude of her to want to be helped, especially if it wasn't clear that you were waiting. but it certainly wouldn't have been rude of you to say "excuse me, but i believe i was here before you were, and i'd like to be helped first, please."

not that it helps after the fact, and i know you're less comfortable with stuff like this regardless... but politely pointing out a fact isn't inappropriate even if the fact happens to be in your favor. *hug*

I did notice that the woman who pulled her car in behind mine was attractive and very well dressed. *wiggle eyebrow*

No, really I think she went inside and found the first person she saw and said she needed to be assisted and he did without realizing that she was not the next person in line. *sigh*

Your surgeon sounds like... Huh. Interesting. It sounds like if he wasn't such an artist, you would never put up with it. *hug* But I'm glad that your surgery healed so well. You clearly worked for it (waiting all those hours for him). *smile*

Frickin' invisibility

I have become an exceedingly BAD waiter. Used to be OK, but the loud jerk was served before me just one too mny times...something cracked. I wish I had my former poise and composure, but it is gone.

Do you have any outside observers to the post-cracking actions? Because I really, really want blow-by-blow details. With pictures, if possible.
