The past few weeks

A weekend road trip to visit my old friend E on her 40th birthday. We have been friends for *gulp* 24 years. The two best points for me were
Then a work trip to California. My doing-something-fun on this trip was two lunches with a friend and dinner with tiger_strips & roadkill_ish. Nice conversation.
And back at home, two non-consecutive day trips last week to spend time with my college roommate. She is upbeat and very positive. I know in the big picture that clean dishes, a swept floor, and a card game will not make her healthier, but they will help me live with myself.
This next week I will have another college roommate day trip and will start two online programming classes. Life is progressing quickly.
And it is even raining outside.

(1) the two of us desperately trying to shore up the inevitable slide of the second layer of black devil's food cake. The creamy orange icing acted only as a lubricant in inevitable separation of the layer.
(2) watching her try on many of my favorite work shirts that I would not be wearing for a while. They looked TERRIFIC on her. While our coloring is totally different, somehow my favorite colors still look wonderful on her. It does my heart good to know that they have gone to A Better Place. *only slightly wistful sigh*
